Ventuno anni fa, proprio a ridosso del Natale, a soli 35 anni, chiudeva la propria esistenza Pierluca Pontrandolfo: durante tutta la sua breve vita di militante anarchist had undertaken to organize the opposition and to develop social memory, identified as a privileged terrain of cultural and political life. As long as his strength allowed, Pierluca dedicated himself to reconstruct and make known the facts and ideas of the working class in Lucca and its protagonists with competence, enthusiasm and love (yes, because for him 'remember' meant above all 'back on the streets of the heart '!) was looking for and sew the words of the elders, the memories of the old political leaders and trade unions, using both intelligently written testimony, whether oral, just as skillful in using the tool to pull the interview from oblivion the story of the 'anonymous companions' of the labor movement Lucca. After his death, in his own name and in his hometown, using insights and methods of work that had been their own, have come to life more than a few ephemeral or efforts to recover a whole wealth of knowledge that would otherwise forgetful and to bring to light the extraordinary wealth of human, cultural and political experiences of men and women 'opposition' has always been neglected and relegated to only part of the folklore.
Putting value in the memory of the 'powerless', the 'voiceless', the 'no history' and make valuable material for the history of the subaltern classes was the most important and precious legacy of our dear friend.
Pierluca But nor was it just that, for many of us, with whom he shared the anxieties and enthusiasms, passions and failures, including an entire generation, he was also, and above all, a sincere friend and reliable, kind and generous, gentle and unselfish, what each of us would have wanted and never managed to be.
Maybe that's why it does not tarnish his memory and, after so long, over twenty years now, there is still so intense, vivid, often strong enough to make him our witness silenzioso, ma perspicace e ironico del nostro inabitabile presente: chissà cosa avrebbe detto Pierluca delle vicende politiche dell’oggi; chissà come giudicherebbe la catastrofe etica e culturale che ci sta davanti e rischia di travolgerci.
